Flash Flood Takes Out Bridge on I-10 in Southern California

27,000 Commuters were impacted between Los Angeles and Phoenix after flash flooding caused by strong thunderstorms washed away a bridge on Interstate 10. Monsoonal moisture in the summer often leads to the development of strong thunderstorms in the desert southwest, but over the last two summers thunderstorms have been unusually robust.
